Hitchcock
Created for the Jewellery & Cinema exhibition (November 2016) at Tincal Lab, these pieces were born from the challenge of bringing into jewellery a fragment of the cinematic world of the legendary filmmaker Sir Alfred Hitchcock.
Inspired by three of his most iconic films — Birds, Psycho and Rear Window —, the jewels take the form of three rectangular brooches, designed in a contemporary language, where the cinematic reference is evident in each one.
In Psycho, a large knife slices through the silver surface, symbolising fear and unpredictability.
In Birds, a group of stylised birds evokes the unease and chaos that hover over the screen.
In Rear Window, a geometric building front reveals windows and a staircase, suggesting the voyeur’s gaze, the mystery, and the tension between what is seen and what remains hidden.
