Today is the World Portuguese Language Day; an occasion to celebrate our language and Lusophone cultures.
I haven't lived in my country for some years now, but anyone who knows me acknowledge that I am extremely proud to be Portuguese. In fact, this is the main reason why I insist that my label remains Portuguese!
Quoting Miguel Esteves Cardoso, "First of all, I love you, for not being another country. I love you for being Portugal and being full of portugueses, speaking portuguese. There is no other country, no matter how good or beautiful it may be, where that happens".
